SUMMARY:Scotland MeetUp w/ Seb Rose
DESCRIPTION:We asked you what you wanted us to cover as essential Agile and you said “BDD – Business Driven Development…” \nSo we reached out to one of the greats on the topic the Author Seb Rose to come and create a session to help you learn more about BDD. \nWho is Seb?…… Consultant\, coach\, trainer\, analyst\, and developer for over 30 years. \nSeb has been involved in the full development lifecycle with experience that ranges from Architecture to Support\, from BASIC to Ruby. He’s a BDD advocate with SmartBear\, helping people integrate all three practices of BDD into their development process and ensuring that appropriate tool support is available. \nRegular speaker at conferences and occasional contributor to software journals. Co-author of the BDD Books series “Discovery” and “Formulation” (Leanpub)\, lead author of “The Cucumber for Java Book” (Pragmatic Programmers)\, and contributing author to “97 Things Every Programmer Should Know” (O’Reilly). \nHe blogs at cucumber.io/blog and tweets as @sebrose. \nCome along and have a great night! \nWhats BDD??\nIn software engineering\, behavior-driven development (BDD) is an Agile software development process that encourages collaboration among developers\, QA and non-technical or business participants in a software project. It encourages teams to use conversation and concrete examples to formalize a shared understanding of how the application should behave. It emerged from test-driven development (TDD). Behavior-driven development combines the general techniques and principles of TDD with ideas from domain-driven design and object-oriented analysis and design to provide software development and management teams with shared tools and a shared process to collaborate on software development. \n
